Granted the man has abilities, it's just too bad he uses them in an capacity that hurts people. Let's see him talk his way out of damnation on judgement day as he stands before the throne of God. If that happens to be the way things go down. If not, I hardly think he is a loved man and not many tears will be shed. J.F. Rutherford was so hated his own sons would not show up at his funeral. Indeed there were few that attended. This is very telling of people who dominate the lives of others with no mercy. I was at the funeral of a prominent p.o. there were 600 people there and yet all eyes were dry. Some of his sons did not even attend. This was the man who ruined my life without mercy. I attended only as a form of closure for his ceaseless abuse. I would rather have 2 sincere people at my funeral with tears than 10,000 who could care less.

I think arrogance enables the mind to many forms of evil and self delusions. This can be found in dictators like saddam hussein, adolph hitler and my favorite one, the watch tower. When you know everything, no one can teach you, and you can rationalize any evil you you want under your own self-agrandisement and self delusions. The only cure, is the ability to put yourself in other peoples shoes. Knowledge just puffs up. That is why Jesus hated the scribes and the pharisees and would not forgive them. They missed the whole point of his message and sought his destruction.

i had only one worldly friend since high school and she has been there for me thru everything.

To this very day I still don't trust anyone. It is a much different thing when you are born into this way of thinking as opposed to someone who already formed there opinions of the world. I still can't make my father understand. Being cast out is a massive breach of trust, especially when the family is involved. I still have a hard time fitting in and I cannot fool myself about it. There may be good people out there though. Deep down I think I am a good person but I have learned, if you give 100% TRUST TO ANYONE, you will get hurt and disappointed. You must give trust in degrees. ie. I can trust billy with money but I can't trust him with my girlfreind. Tom I can trust with my girlfreind, but I sure wouldn't lend him money. I have to approach the world this way because I cannot to afford to get hurt anymore. If anyone is willing to give 100% trust out, then you have just made yourself vulnerable. At the same time it would be nice if we could do that, but it's not a perfect world. People will not give you the true nature of themselves because they do not know you. Further, others will not give you their true nature because they are predators. Does anyone want to go through 100 assholes to find 1 good freind. I don't think it's worth it. Yet how can you live life? You must take chances, but protect first, the vulnerable inner child. If you encounter a situation often enough you will recognize right away and avoid harm. The only way to deveop that ability is to live life and take what comes. If your lucky you might find life more fulfilling.

Appreciating true spiritual freedom - a word to our newbies!
by diamondblue1974 ini remember my feelings of bewilderment when i first read through threads on jwd back in february 2005; by then i had been an exjw for over a decade.
i must have been at my pc for two days solid while i just read and read.
it was impossible to take everything in, but i couldnt stop reading and couldnt stop taking in all the information this site contained.. i remember the initial fear i felt too, like reading about other's experiences was an act of rebellion or evil.

When I left, there was nothing but oblivion. My entire structure collapsed. As a condemed man, I was really running away, but didn't know anything else. There was nothing else. My mindset was such that, I felt if i'm a dead man, I might as well do all I can to enjoy whatever before I croak. The end result would be the same anyways. I had no one at all to turn to, family included. I even tried going back, but was ignored and humiliated for a year. I sought the help of phychiatrists but it only ended up with me screaming and yelling at him for 6 months.It was too intense! Not only that but my family tried everything they could to discourage me from this. I have hitch hiked across Canada with zero dollars and seen the darker side. Many close calls on my life. I have lived in poverty in many seedy areas and seen nothing but ugly. My depression and anger grow daily. To this day I have never celebrated anything and I am 40 years old. All my relationships have fallen apart. I have been hanging in suspended animation for 20 years. I have met many ex jws on the streets many turned to a criminal mind. One of my ex jw freinds did 10 years for armed robbery in kingston pen. There are people who have become deeply disturbed and may never recover. I actually had crisis of consceince in my hands as early as 1990 but never got too far with from the constant bombardment of my family. I still hesitate to post my bio as well. This forum has been the most uplifting and enlightening source of healing I have ever encountered. It's not a bed of roses for everybody and it doesn't alway's have a happy ending. As I have said before they are slaughterers of the mind and soul.

I didn't know he was president. There used to be a day when everybody knew who the president was, and their is a reason for that too. It's called liability, evasiveness and cunning. I see a snake. I also see a guy who's probably been pulling his pin 60 years. A pontificator with total impunity and arrogance. A sociopath with a massive ego and a liar. I feel probably the way Jesus did. Absolute disgust.

i was actually doing research for my dad who wanted to see the world's viewpoint of the failed 1975 prophecy.
he came into the truth less than three years ago and though my mom has been a witness since she was a teenager she never spoke of that particular time period to him.

I'm not deluding myself.Life is painful and it seems humanity has a abuilt in self destruct button. Our only hopes will come from common sense, and good triumphing over the evil within us. Reality is ugly, but if you fill your head with anything other than that you will have no tools for the real world. Beleive me I love fairy tales too but I need facts. It seems the biggest problems today are caused by bullshit religion. Our own minds will take us to our collective destiny whatever that is. It is something we cannot know. Let love and logic rule. Do not worry about the rest.

on your own thoughts or beleifs,, then it gives you a % of which ones you are most attracted to.. my highest came up church of christ, and scientist,, followed closely by new age ,, jw came in at 50 % i was hoping it would be less, but it was an interesting couple of minutes to spend my time,, my bro is church of christ, and i went once or twice and found it good, just still feel abit lost to actually going full steam ahead with a particular way, would rather just sit back and look, and take care of myself and family as best i can.... http://www.beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7665_1.html.

We have a brain and although some of can be very intelligent it seems in a lot of ways common sense is missing. I would call myself a secular humanist. That is I try to put myself in other peoples shoes and feel their pain. The world is full of problems so use logic wherever you can and try to deal with reality. God will never come out of the sky and do it for us. We have it within ourselves to make the world a better place and bring mankind as a collective to our destinies. All else is bull shit and surviving rather than living. Logic and love rule, there is nothing else. Let us deal with it.
